Birthdays are always a good day to revisit old posts. Don't you think? A few years back I wrote a 30 things to do before I turn 30. Well today I turn 31 and I should see what I can cross off. Now granted when I wrote this post I was in a very different season of life. I was temporarily living in Alabama with plans to return to home(Arizona) when my husband came back from Afghanistan. Well....... Here are the details now.
Still live in AL
Divorced
So I have a feeling most of these are obsolete. Thats okay. It is time to start a new list.
Original Post
30 Things before I turn 30
I will add commentary in Red!
1. Go abroad- Fall 08 I did go to Italy and it was a wonderful amazing trip! I even got to do a 6 hour whirlwind tour of London on our layover.
2. Learn the basics for said country-I tried........so tried. I did take all my Western Civ. classes last year and it was wonerful to have a visual for parts of those classes. It made the class come alive for me and only lighted the fire for me to go back!
3. Go back to school and work on finishing up my general studies- Well I can almost cross this off. After this semester I literally have about 5 classes left of general studies. I am very proud despite wanting to give up several times!
4. Catch up on all things scrapbooking-Haha! I have not touched it therefore piling up even more years to catch up on! I am looking to get in the groove, but plan a more basic approach. I have not even developed pictures in 3 years!
5. Continue my running-Well it is true that I have ran many races since I first wrote these goals but in the last year I have let it go. I still LOVE it and desire it but I have a hard time fitting it into my life which is only an excuse. I have been getting out a couple times a week here lately but I am no where near where I want to be.
6. Run a marathon- Again see #5.....The highest distance I have reached in a race is 10K
7. Work on group fitness certification-This is seperate from going back to school. This is still a goal, but I am trying to concentrate on my degree now. I guess I underestimated my superhero abilities.
8. Take my husband to Half Moon Bay, CA- He has never seen this beautiful place and I wish to take him there and drive down Hwy 1, hopefully in the fall. Stop at the little pumpkin festivals along the way, taking our time and enjoying all that this route has to offer.Well I guess we can drop this off.....Don't live on the West side anymore and not married.
9. Go to San Franciso-This could technically be done on the same trip as Half Moon Bay, but who knows, I love California so much I may want to break up the trips. Same see #8
10. Visit Big Sky Country- Maybe even ski! We will see. I have a friend who lives up there and so does Chris. So It would be great to go to this area that I have never seen and be around friends as well. Nope, not yet!
11. Buy a mountain Bike- There are alot of races and fun things to explore if I could get into this hobby. still have not done this. The kids got bikes and I hope to get one sometime but more for leisurely fun.
12. Go Kayacking- I live in AZ for goodness sake, there is so much to see and explore. Oh the aspirations I had at 29!
13. Learn what it takes to be the house that is the kid friendly house-You know what I mean, I want the kids and their friends to want to be at my house. There are multiple reasons for this. For one, I am always in contact with my kids and know what they are into, and I wish to build a relationship with my kids that is close and open. I have had a touch of this living down here. Especially before we moved to our new house. Its good but sometimes can wear you out!
14. Get a dog- I do not have any pets, my cat is now living with my parents(long story) but I wish to have a dog. I have my name on the list for a morkie(Maltese/Yorkie). Well this one did happen. I got my Morkie and his name is Mac. He is 2 years old now and lives with my mom. I miss him dearly but in all my life changes he got settled in with her and is very happy. I give him all the love I can when I visit. I have however adopted a Greyhound. Miley is a 2 year old retired racer. It was always my dream to have one but I was always concerned about size and well we never stayed in on place too long. Well with life changes came stability and I got my Grey.
15. Set up a fish tank..........again. Love this....but not sure I want anymore responsibility. Haha
16. Do a fun/run/walk/ with the kids for a good cause Last summer we did one with the kids. It was great and they loved it!
17. Sky Dive- Yes maybe someday. Not anytime soon.
18. Continue paying off Debt- including student loans Happy to report I am debt free.
.
19. Spend a anniversary together with my husband-This has not happened for us in 6 years! We have only been married 7! Oh lord. Again....Divorce
20. Get into the habit of a girls night out-Seriously Laura, when I get home, seriously!!! I miss you--Oh and side note to this, we are going to get tickets to see Wicked and hopefully Mama Mia again! While this has been a regular even for me in the last few years.....I miss it now. New place, still meeting people. Yada yada
21. Go on regular dates with my husband- No we have never done this. I need a babysitter! Ahhhh....Divorced....Told you these were obselete
22. Get in the car and drive somewhere for the weekend-no plans, no direction, just go! Good one.....why is this so hard to do?
23. Attend a SS retreat I did at Skyline!
24. Better yet, host a SS retreat-There is a ton of us in AZ and CA....its doable! Nope
25. See Jimmy Buffett in concert....again-Now I know technically I have already done this..3 times but it just gets better and better and I hope in the next 2 years I can do it again! Well I almost got to Gulf Shores for the benefit concert, then the date changed. blah blah blah.....I miss you Jimmy
26.Wine taste in California- I would love to go and stay at a vineyard and do this! Again.....Living in the South this is much harder to do
27. Ride a motorcycle- Yes I have done this, but it has been a really long time. Nope
28. Get another tattoo-I want one on the wrist or neck and I want it to be celtic in design I have done this! Well I got a cover up. I finally covered up the nasty moon on my shoulder and it is beautiful! I got a fleur de lis.
29. Go back to Mexico- Hopefully with someone that knows it better!- Ivan and Krysten I am counting on you guys for this. I would love to see all those things I saw pictures of! I don't really care anymore but it is also not as close anymore . Not like you can drive a few hours and be there anymore.
30. Vegas Baby!-- for more than 24 hours. This is the key factor. I got no sleep last time because we tried to squeeze it all in in such a short time frame. Also included in this trip is a shocking show(more shocking than Wayne Newton!) Damn I want to go!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So as you can see life has changed and while I still desire many of those things they were much harder to cross off when your whole life changes. I am working on a new list 32 before 32. It is going to include items that are much more attainable! Stay tuned!

Catch up
Ive been a bad blogger. Blame it on Verizon. I thought my internet problem was fixed. Wrong. I do think it is fixed now. 350.00 later. Got set up with a have phone company and wireless router. It is fixed......well as fixed as it is ever going to be living here in the sticks! I mean fabulous country. At least I can actually see pictures and such in my google reader now. My google reader that I neglected. I have slowly been making my way through it and realizing very quickly I have filled it with blogs I am uninterested in and don't read. No offense people but we all know that it happens. Here lately my interests have been running more towards blogs with home design, holidays, and greyhounds. Some I am slowly cleaning up the reader and trying to take time to visit the blogs I love. Which was almost impossible before we my connection.
There has not been alot of internet time lately anyway. We are in the 3rd week of school (gasp) and I am starting my first full week of classes this week. I had 2 days last week but diving in head first this week. I hate the feeling of being overwhelmed that I always get with school. I am still on fire about school and really happy with the progress I have made but still there are days I think how will I make it through. Also I am not totally thrilled with my options here at the community college. I have enough to keep me occupied for now but know soon I will need to travel further to a college that offers more. This semester I am right on target with a few classes I have procrastinated to take. 1 math class, Biology, Literature, and yuck yuck yuck Speech. I have dreaded this class since I was 18. Now at 30 it is not any easier. Except for being one of the oldest in the class. I am hoping experience will help me out. Biology I love and I have taken this class before. The school has decided that I needed to take it again because it had been 10 years and it did not transfer. * I litterally banged my head against my advisors desk* Okay, I can get down with that. I am happy to report I am in my last literature class of my college career.....Thank you Lord! I love literature and I love to read what I hate is all the reports and papers for said peices of literature. Now Speech is a whole other ballgame. This week I am required to give a 2 minute speech about ME. Okay. I tremble at the thought.....and this is just a little speech. I am happy to report that all the kids in the class look just as scared as I did and a few said as they were leaving the class " What am I going to say about myself ,what have I done, I am only 18".......I have time on my side here. I have plenty that I know about myself. I just do not want to speak!
But I digress...
In other news Its my bday this week. Wednesday I turn 3 and 1. I really don't get the bday thing anymore. Unless someone could make it go in reverse.
Anywho....
I will be back, I will keep up better. Really I do miss it. Blogging. I got to bitch somewhere about my Speech class. I might even show off my supercool cupcakes I want to try for my bday.
Then its diet people. Diet. I can't take this down home, southen, got to have bread with every meat and potatoe meal........I got to give it up. I would greatly appreciate if someone in the nearby vicinity would bring in a Whole Foods, Greenlife or Sprouts.......Anyone? It will never fly.
Ciao!

I don't think I care to come up with anymore clever titles for my posts anymore. Not sure why.
Could possibly be because all I seem to do is "catch up" when I do post....mostly because I have to reconnect to the internet every few minutes.
Today is the anniversary of Elvis' death. 8/16/1977. So in honor of the King I thought I would list my
"top 5" favorite songs of all time from Elvis.
1. Devil in Disguise
2. Suspicious Minds
3. Fools Rush In
4. Amazing Grace
5. In the Ghetto.....which is quite surprising because I never used to like this song....but damn I do now. Even though I struggle to get Carmen's voice (from South Park)
Ever since I have been painting the house I have been listening to my deluxe Elvis disk on my handy cd player that hangs under the cabinet in the kitchen. A CD player that I initially thought I would remove from the cabinet. Yet I have used the cd player so much I think it is staying. Anyway.....I have gotten the kitchen painted. Check out my before and after.
Before: Please excuse my awful pictures.

After
This 1st one is really dark.
This is all just paint. J and I have talked about new counter tops, painting cabinets, faucets blah blah blah.....
Right now I am just handling the paint.
Again horrible pictures. I am not sure what is with my camera indoors.
Oh and what is the big black square on my wall?
Chalkboard!
I am pretty excited about it. I have seen it before on tons of websites/magazines....and I thought I would go for it. I am waiting another 10 hours or so to write on it....and I am not exactly sure what I will write.
Calendar? Menu? Quote? Let the kids go wild?
Who knows but I absoltely love the boldness of it when you walk in.
P.S. Anyone have a problem making a house a home?
Does that question make sense?
I have a house.......kind of an empty shell......its not comfortable yet. Not cozy. Not home.
I am ok with this....sorta.
I have commitment issues.. and I am not the only one. Thank you very much.
I am relationship challenged.
Not to quote Meridith Grey but I am scary and damaged or is it dark and twisty?
J and I do not have stuff. We don't have years together where you collect stuff. You know stuff that you decorate or place in your home. What we have is a house.
Hell who am I kidding we went couch shopping and can not even commit to a couch. So we have a living room. One I spent a week painting with no furniture in it. So we do not spend any time in there. Its a shame and actually becoming quite the joke.
Don't get me wrong ....I am not angry. I am not upset really.
I have commitment issues. Quite possibly domestically challenged.
From Psychologist point of view......and I am not a psychologist .......I would say that my failure to decorate the house, put any furniture in the house, hang a picture......shows my fear of committing to the house, the relationship.....uh anything. So J called me on it. He flat out called me out. I did not even realize it until he brought it up. Which kind of stung a bit. Who am I kidding it stung alot.
So today I hung a picture. I actually put a nail in the wall.
I committed.
BUT
I couldnt commit to a rug today for the kitchen. I just couldnt do it.
Baby Steps People
.......
Don't worry I can laugh at myself.

1 week of school down. Well almost. This has been one long exhausting week. The kids and I are all cranky. Lack of sleep. Long days. My youngest has declared she does not want to go back. I don't blame her. The boys are doing well.......albeit realizing that "hey I am in a bigger grade this year" and "I might have to put some effort into it."
I am still so very thrilled about school uniforms............That was a total lie.
okay, so this is a short post.
I am tired, I have had less sleep than needed in the last two days.
K has been sleepwalking and the other night she walked straight to the back door and clicked the deadbolt and if I had not caught her would have been outside.
Clearly I did not sleep well after that. In fact I went and slept with her. Last night I was just overly tired from the previous night and therefore was awake until 12. Alarm went off at 3:30 where I promptly let myself out on the back door to watch the meteor shower only to be completly dissapointed because of the clouds. Darn tropical depression. I was really excited for this shower. It was supposed to be the peak. 60 per minute. Alas.....not a one did I get to see.
Anyway my point is I am tired.
I am still MIA alot around here. I think a actual land line is my only hope.
My school starts soon. I will be glad to have a routine of my own.
Everyone around here seems to have one....but me.

My babies are home.
They were gone for a long weekend with their dad.
I picked them up early this morning.
This one is a little under the weather.
Me too. I have a bad cold..
So we are hanging in bed.
Ok... she has me a little worried.......sleeping for close to 4 hours now.
She told me her tummy and head hurt.
Of course she ate a cheese pizza.....and said she had a bunch of cheese and milk.
Eh hem.......she is lactose intolerant. Which gives her incredible acid reflux pain. blah. blah. blah.
Come on dad! Give me a break
Anyway......we are laying in bed.
As if we didnt have an excuse anyway. It is pouring.
I feel that it is perfectly exceptable to come up with excuses to lay in bed all day.
For instance:
Im sick
Its raining
Its too hot outside
Its Friday....or Monday
New book
New magazine
No school
Seriously Im kidding. sorta.
I usually have very busy days.
Just not this summer.
This summer has been lazy.
I am totally ready to be slightly busier.
Slightly.
Remember I said that....
I will bitching in a few weeks about how there is no time!

Its slipping away........
Summer.
I feel it slipping away.
Its been a long summer ........but it went by fast.
The summer started off quite busy. It seemed there was always something going on. Soon though summer faded into long days that my kids would describe as boring.
It has been so HOT.....and I have definetly not adjusted to the humidity.....still I will miss Summer.
I will miss
lazy days with simple enjoyments
new adventures
impromptu days
and hot summer nights
Still there are things to look forward to. August is still here which means Summer is still around. School is starting. This year we have a 6th, 4th, and 1st grader. I am starting another year of college as well. This year will be interesting as I am unable to take online. So its brick and mortar for me.
And then there will be fall. Which I can totally look forward to. Especially October. Love October. Love Halloween. I am already planning K's costume. I am thinking the boys are going to be too old.....
So today I am following along.....Its been awhile.

Bliss
I wish I could sleep like this.
I wonder if she would scoot over and let me try her bed out?
J and I have got to get a new bed. We switch sides every night because apparently there is a "good side".
Miley seems to have no problems sleeping......

Our first beauty Pageant
I am totally attempting to catch up on posts from the past month......so here you go.
She was beautiful
sweet
cute
She did such a good job.
She came in last.
Only 3 in her age group and she came in last. Oh wait she got "prettiest hair"
Okay before you think I have gone all pageant mom on you....I have not. But!
Well it was supposed to be 4th of July CASUAL. No pageant dresses. There was a lot of confusion here with the director and changes at the last minute. I did not have any idea that casual meant....costumes. Some kids were wearing costumes. Mostly the ones that won.
But I digress.
Next year we will know.
The fact is she did great. She got up there and did great for her first time.
She had fun and absolutely did not care.
Thats all that matters.
Once it was all over she said
"of course I got prettiest hair.....everyone loves my hair"
True child , true.
I think it would be fun to do again....different venue. Not sure if she will want to and I don't care to push it.
We will see.

A Forced Run....
This is how my day begins.....
5AM.....alarm clock goes off. Do I set the alarm?, Do I need the alarm?.......No. I am just the person who hits snooze about a dozen times. J needs the alarm. J sets the alarm. J does not hear the alarm. I hit the snooze, I get up let the dog out, feed her, come back to bed.....about the time that J is rolling out of bed. Last night we (or rather I) were having a repeat conversation about how asinine this process was.
Asinine definition: Utterly Stupid
If he would get up when the alarm goes off, I would not get woken up, the dog would not get woken up.....and this whole process of me being up at the break of dawn could stop. Then again I mentioned....simply mentioned .......tha since I am up anyway I should really be out running. Especially since its cool this time of day and I am a total loser for slacking.
So this morning.......alarm goes off, I hit snooze several times, get up and open the door for the dog......She refuses to go out. I slam the door and stop(childlessly) back to bed. J gets up opens the door for the dog......and she gladly goes out for him, and he proceeds to get ready for work. As he leaves he comes over, pulls the covers off and says get up and go for a run since you are up anyway. I stand up and yell in his face " I would not be up if you would get up with your alarm".
Okay I admit I was really rude. I am a light sleeper........but I am not a morning person.
So I stomped to the armoire, grabbed sports bra and socks, got dressed, leashed the dog and headed out. I get 5 steps off of the driveway and Miley stops. I pull leash and get nothing. Obviously she is not a morning person either. I stomp back to the house and put her in bed with R. I swear I am not going to let this run beat me. I am up for godsake! I hit the road. I feel pretty good. Walking and doing intervals of jogging. A few miles later I am feeling better, my head is clear.....and I am feeling very glad I got J's push this morning.
When I got back there was a sweet note waiting for me at the door.
Nice.
Back in bed now. Which is awesome. Soon this will end. Soon school will start. Soon my classes will begin. But for now....For now there is no agenda.

Hello Blog World!
I have seriously missed blogging and well the internet in general. I have not had service for a month. A MONTH! I thought when we moved I would have better service. Never dreamed it would get worse! I still do not have great service but its something. I am not sure how long I will hold out before putting a phone line in the house. So what have I done with my time? Well I have managed to paint the kitchen , living room, K.K.'s room, A porch swing, 2 porch rockers, and 2 back porch chairs, and a bookshelf. I got completely registered for fall classes and all grants and paperwork in for the year. I spent 2 weeks without any kids.......which was nice at first, then boring, then really quiet, then down right depressing. I went to my parents to get them. J and H went with me.....which was interesting to say the least. All school shopping is finished except for paper towels and kleenex. I completely planned a family trip and train ride to New Orleans.....only to have the trip cancelled as we are about to board the train. Hurricane Bonnie.....grrrrr.... Spent a weekend in Gulf Shores with all the kids.
So thats what I have been up to. Sounds like alot when I type it out.....but really I feel like I have to much time on my hands. I need ......Need to start school, get the kids back in school....get back to a routine.
For now I am very happy to be back online.

Friday Stuff
Hello everyone! Thank Goodness it is Friday. I am so ready for a weekend, perhaps not this one, but a weekend none the less. This week we seem to have to do a bunch of birthday party get togethers. There will be 4 boys in the house tonight for a sleepover and K has a little girl party to go to. Tomorrow night we are going out with friends for some much needed "without kids" time. We have had a 3 kids for several weeks again and I realize how much I need the break sometimes. Here is Friday fill in for the week. Appropriate.
1. On vacation, I like to just sit on the beach!
2. Now there is tar in my ocean.
3. One of my favorite vacation spots is the Gulf.
4. I love to sit outside on the deck durning a full moon.
5. Up, up and away .........
6. Bananas are my dogs favorite.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to.......I am not looking forward to anything, tomorrow my plans include a birthday cookout and night out with friends and Sunday, I want to go furniture shopping with J.
On that note.....go buy these

Is it Thursday Already?
Thats good because I am looking forward to the weekend but I really need to finish my living room. I have two coats of colors on the walls, and 2 coats of kilz on the wainscoting and fire place. It is now time to do the white gloss. I must be getting old because my hands hurt, my neck hurts and my butt and thighs hurt from going up and down the chair.
Sad thing is...I am very unsure of my decorating abilities......or maybe its just the color green. I like it, now its like "What do I do with it?" I am sure I will feel differnt when I get furniture and pictures up. At least I hope so.
By the way, my intereview is up over at Say Anything today. Thanks Dee!
I have approximately 6 days to get my Pell Grant stuff in and send my application to college for the fall. Procrastinators stand tall. I got you all beat. I suck at this stuff.
Also, I still have done nothing about my internet, which works better in the kitchen apparently but still shady.
Of course yesterday I willed it to work good while I hounded ticketmaster for Jimmy Buffett Tickets. Tickets were free for the concert at the beach in Gulf Shores. Well they were sold out in minutes and were on Ebay for up to 1000$ within the hour.
Makes you proud to be an American doensnt it?
Jimmy Buffett was trying to do something good. Drive business into the gulf to help the economy down there. He was to give a free concert on the beach. 35000 tickets. All free. Then people bought them up and are now making a profit off of his good will. I am appalled. I am ticked off. I still plan on going but damn I hope JB has something to say about all this. Apparently Ebay did get wind of it and took all auctions down. Still the damage is done. I still hope to go , they say you can get on the beach and still here the music. I am going to go get my tshirts from the concert and Lulu's. I am devestated by the oil spill in the Gulf and I believe that it will never be the same. How it breaks my heart for my children. How it breaks my heart , because I longed to retire there someday. There has got to be some action, but it feels so hopeless.
Before I get all political and start badmouthing and pointing fingers though I will digress. I am determined to get painting and finish this living room. I think I will take a week off before tackling K.K.'s room or the kitchen.
Sad thing is...I am very unsure of my decorating abilities......or maybe its just the color green. I like it, now its like "What do I do with it?" I am sure I will feel differnt when I get furniture and pictures up. At least I hope so.
By the way, my intereview is up over at Say Anything today. Thanks Dee!

The Weekend, The week ahead......and damn I am good at this mom thing.
Well first I will tell you why I am AWESOME at this mom thing. K came in this morning with a fallen head and slumped shoulders......."Mommy , the tooth fairy didn't come...... DAMN! How could I forget? This happened with Rye once and I told him I think he is too old. K is only 6! Totally kicking myself, and scrambled up some BS and told her that I would email the tooth fairy and make sure he knew we had moved. What else could I say? What can I say......I am sure to win a parenting award someday.
Okay so this weekend. It came , it went, got absolutely nothing accomplished. Saturday....we had every intention to do yard work and house work all day. Well we were invited to two different birthday parties and a night out to eat with friends. Okay fine.....we will make and appearance and the bday parties then head out to eat(which is all we really cared to do in the first place). Well it was one of those days. The kids woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Everyone was fussing, fighting, and whining. No yard work happened because we had put it off because of having to be places and no one had gone to pick up the lawnmower. J and I managed to hang a few pictures and continue to be undecided about painting. By the time 2 rolled around we were so exhausted with the kids that I declared that no one was going to bday parties! I am of the mind that they do not get to do fun stuff if they act like holy terrors at home. Not Fair to J and I. He absolutely agreed. The boys went of to play and K the instigator of the whole rotton day layed down and promptly slept all afternoon. I wonder??? Could not have been the fact that they stayed up half the night watching TV????? Sneaky little boogers. Hated to imput a summer night curfew but we did. No more of that! Later that evening after everyone had a little rest we got dressed and went out to eat with friends. We went to a place called Bobby's Fish Camp. Its down on the Tombigbee River. You can get there by boat or road. The only other time I have been was by boat. This is a family restaurant to our friends Ky and Miller. We were celebrating Miller's 29th bday. It was a great night!
It was a beautiful evening after a big thunderstorm.
We had a good time with good friends and good food.
Miller's mom brought cake. Pound cake with Carmel frosting......I believe made by the Mennonites.
Hello amazing. Loved it, once again.
Even the kids acted good. We all made plans to do something again next weekend sans kids.
Sunday
We all slept in a little. Me not so much. Still not used to the bright room and roosters. J used to have a total black bedroom....total bachelor pad. Now everything is bright and cheery and windows and Roosters!!!
Love it, but I cant sleep yet.
So I got up, got my reader all caught up and made breakfast. Kids got up and helped cook up a Father's Day breakfast all while dancing around the kitchen to Elvis. Once J got up we ate and made plans for the day. He headed out to get lawnmower and I cleaned house. A few hours later....No lawnmower. It was broken when he went to get it. House got cleaned. So we spent the day trying to figure out what to do the rest of the day. Do you know what I mean? We both had energy just did not know where to put it. There are many things we want to do around the house but do not know where to start. This is not a fixer upper by any means we just want to change stuff to our style. We are both A personalities with great aspirations but somehow never follow through. Make sense? I suggested we start in the living room. Its a blank slate except for a entertainment center. We are buying chairs and couches but want to paint first.
I really want to show you before pictures......
but I am going to wait. I have one wall painted and so far I like the color. Wild Asparagus. There is so much to do. Painting wood , fireplace, walls, then finding some decor. J and I definetly mesh well with all of this and he came up with a brilliant idea using water paddles............
I will show you later!
So thats what I am doing this week. Painting, kiltzing, glossing.......then we have a busy weekend of girl parties, cookouts, and a band at the Yacht Basin(? think thats what its called) with great friends.
Forgot to mention! I have awful service right now at the house. Yes we moved even further out....I think. Going to have to change internet service and soon! So if you left me a message or followed me on Friday....I am getting around slowly!!!

Friday Follow

Hi All,
I have been a poor blogger this week and I have many reasons for that. For one, this move wiped me out and I am tired and feel there is nothing to type about. Second, internet service is bad here. Somedays I have it and somedays I don't. Today is a good day obviously and I must call and get this worked out. Also, its been one of those weeks that has flown by unpacking and tying up loose ends, running errands, and taking care of business. You know all the stuff that goes with moving.....no matter how short a distance it is. I still have alot to do but I do believe this move will force me to get on with it. Like order new checks and change my address with the bank....something I have not done since I moved in with J... 6 months ago. He teases that if I do that then I would really be making a commitment. Ah hem.........I am a commitment phobe. I can't help it. I suck at relationships. Okay ha ha.......let him have his laugh.
So I am sitting around today waiting for Dish to show up and give us TV.......they said between 8 and 12 so I am expecting them about 1. Thats fine because I had nothing better to do with my day. Actually I think I will be organizing the office. Always the last room to do and the one I have avoided like the plague. All this scrapbook stuff .....for a hobby in which I never particiapate in....but always think I will do it again. Its ridiculous. Also its filing and office and school stuff. Yuck.
Well its only 6:12am.....it can wait a little while.

Tuesday Tag along and some updates......

Checking in today. Roosters are still crowing.......I swear I am going to get my 22 down and start target practice! J woke up today cussing. I swear he said the F word 10 times before he got out the door. Something about the F-ing chickens............ I yelled at him as he walked out.....Try staying here all day!! Really its not that bad......I keep the radio on, and for the most part if I am busy around the house I don't hear it. Its only when I come to my nice, big calming bedroom that its like all I can hear. Well most of the house is unpacked. All I have left is my closet, the office, and hang pictures. I worked all day yesterday on two kids rooms. We got rid of 2 HUGE boxes of clothes. I can't believe how much was hiding in the boy's drawers and closet. Its all gone now. I have another huge box of blankets, sheets, curtains, and toys to take somewhere........but since when does Salvation Army only take clothes? Could be just this particular store but wow. Riddle me this? Why is it no matter how much you clean out........there always seems like there is still too much. I swear I can clean out a closet of clothes and it still never seems to make a dent. I don't get that. Moving really points that out. Today as I put my closet together, I swear I am going to keep only the 10% that I actually wear. I swear it. Even if I have to try on every piece.
Its not all bad though. I love J crawling into bed every night and saying how much he loves the house. The bedroom is our favorite room. Could be because its on the opposite side of the house as the kids, or it could be because it is the size of an apartment I once had. really. Second favorite room.....kitchen. I love cooking in the new kitchen, there is so much room and the kids sit at the island and talk to me and eat. We may never get them to eat at the table again.
Okay well back to the unpacking..........and I am getting cotton balls for my ears. Damn Roosters!
Oh and totally forgot to mention.....I am really loving the new blogger design! Since I am up with all the crowing I have been playing around with new templates and backgrounds. Its nice to change things up......and 3 collums. Woo hoo!

In the zone
Totally in the zone with this move.....thats why so MIA. We are all in the house, its just cleaning, unpacking, and organizing now.
Big downside to this house...............Roosters. Damn roosters. People next door have fighting roosters, I don't know how many....could be hundreds. They never shut up. I have been up since the first cock-a-doodle-doo at 5am. Oh lord. The other neighbor said it was almost a selling point for them and I see why. He did say that after a month, you never notice them anymore. Here is hoping.
Oh my country living.........
Back to the clothes. Who has all these? And where did they fit in the old house? No clue

13 Random things on Thursday and some Thunks
1. VBS started out being a nice little 3 hour break this week.......Now it is interrupting my sleeping in, causing me more laundry with clothes and towels. First Water day, now its Mud day! So glad I only have 2 days left in this week. No in all seriousness its good for them. They need some Jesus. Little devils! Rye even came in this morning(before my coffee) and asked if I knew a bible verse. I looked at him kinda blurry eyed and said No. What? I am Catholic by proxy.......what are you talking about.
by proxy definition: The ability to do or be something without actually physically doing it.
2. I cleaned house all week, but you can't tell. Nope not a bit.
3. I have taken to drinking one of these every night.
Its a little sanity in a cup. Fresca, Rum, and Peaches.
4. Why is it when 1 lightbulb in the house blows.....they all start blowing. Weird.
5. I never got to my squash casserole or zucchini bread yesterday.....guess thats what I am doing today.
6. Its only 4 days until Trueblood Season 3 starts........J and I are absolutely beside ourselves.
Got these off of FB. They are Fabulous right?
7. You all know which VILF right? Thats Vamp I'd like to F***(Flirt with sillies.. eh hem)
ERIC .....and you would too if you read the books. All 10 of them.
See what I mean?
Then when you think he can not get better looking......
He cuts his hair. Sheesh. I love you.
Okay. Enought about the Vamps in my life.
Where was I?
8. My kids totally bought in to the OFF Day yesterday. Sorta. Then they got bored. Before they got bored though, I caught them all playing together.
Scooby Doo Monopoly
That was pretty Awesome. I think they made it about 45 minutes before any fights broke out.
9. Supposedly I am going to start packing today because J is signing papers today, he thinks this move will be a breeze. I think he has never moved before. His way of moving would be to just go , leave everything behind, buy new. I think he is ridiculous.
10. I guess we will be doing it all this weekend....but by golly.....I am going to the boat races. Truth is I have become such a minimalist that the move will not be bad...but still going to be work.
11. I have the best greyhound in the world. She is so lazy. Lying on the porch with me now. She will not take a step off the porch unless I do....and even then she does not leave my side. I can't even get her to run. We took her out into the pasture the other day. Unleashed her. She just layed down in the grass and rolled around. She ran out just a little to explore, came right back and layed back down. I think I know why she was not a successful racer.
12. I made sweet tea yesterday. *crickets* I know and it did not turn out that bad according to the taste testers. Not me, I rarely care for the stuff.
13. Watched the CMA's last night, which I never do. It was really cheesy which reminds me why I don't watch awards show but I did enjoy the performances.
Driver's Ed. Demon #1 is taking it right now. Did you pass your driver's test the first time you took it? Yep, I sure did.
You are sitting outside on your deck in your comfy lawn chair, feet are up and the temp outside is perfect. There are no bugs to bite you and ruin the night... it's peaceful and all you can hear is the birds singing and an occasional cricket. Whats in your hand? Fresca and Rum with floating peaches.
How many graduation parties and weddings do you have to attend this summer? Ok.. how many are you invited too. Well I have been to one Wedding party already. Apparently I am going to a Wedding this weekend. Gag me. I HATE Weddings! Hopefully no more if I can help it.
Someone once said that the grass isn't greener on the other side... are you jealous of your neighbor's lawn? Not so much. Maybe if mine was mowed though.
Bud is walking along a beach barefooted and steps on a piece of glass buried deep in the sand. His foot is bleeding... does he cry, swear or stomp around on his other foot? He hops around.....cussing
I'm gonna take you fishing... are you going to be a whiney baby and not bait your own hook and when you catch a fish am I gonna have to take it off the hook for you? Yes, why yes I am . I dont want to touch worms and or take hooks out of fish mouths.
From a Facebook friend: When asked what would you bring with you to a deserted island, why doesn't anyone answer "a boat"? I would and a compass.........assuming of course that would help.
Hamburger buns - sesame seeds or not? Not.....I don't really care so much about the buns
From Demon #1: Whats your favorite flavor of water? Hmmmm....are we talking like the packets you put in water like Crystal Light......If yes, then Grape is the bomb! The bomb people.
Eclipse is coming out this month... are you going to see it? Hell to the YEAH!!! In fact J made my day when he said hey why don't you get online and make sure we get tickets to opening night. What?? Hold the phone......J and I have never been to a movie together!!!!! Did you read that? Never!

I am calling a OFF day!
I AM EXHAUSTED!!!!!!
We have been going nonstop for a week.
We are Sunkissed, Bug bitten, Water logged, and Sun drained.
I swear I have 7 bug bites around my belly button....HOW??? I don't know but the shit itches. I am so sun kissed my forehead has sun spots. This happens every year and I keep block on but its still there. HATE IT. The kids are all TAN and Red Eyed, Scratched up, Scarred, and bug bitten. Last night I dug out 4 splinters out of K's foot and attempted to get rid of about 9 ant bites. Its been awful. We could take stock in repellant and its still bad. Remember folks.........Country living here!!!! Deep Woods, Pastures, and Lots of Nature.
My house is a mess, laundry is piling up..........I can't keep up.
We all fall into bed completely exhausted by 8 every night.
I am officially calling today an OFF day!!!!!
If you have paid attention to any of my previous posts you will see all we have been up too. Its been fun, but its time to reel it in , recoup, and reorganize. I swear the beach towels are going to be walking on their own soon!
The kids are at VBS until noon, then we are going to get a few groceries, come home, clean up from all the summer festivities, and veg out. I know they need it. I need it. We are moving soon and we have got to start packing and organizing. Thank god we are just moving a few miles away, but still!
I am going to make a squash casserole and zucchini bread today. All from the garden.
I will catch up on laundry
Hopefully sweep and mop the floor....I could do this twice a day.
Give the dog a bath.....sorry Miles
Attempt to pack at least 1 box.
I might even take a nap! Don't tell J.....but he kept me up last night with all his moaning with his hurt back. I know he was hurt, but sheesh neither one of us got any sleep. I think we were all to tired to sleep. K came into bed last night and said she was scared. I told her I was too tired to do scared tonight and go back to bed. She did and never heard another word out of her. We all need naps!

Redneck Water sports
Apparently I don't get it. I don't get that you can not simply slip and slide. Its not enough. My kids will never look back.
You have to use ponds, huge hills........think bigger mom!
This is how they do it in this neck of the woods.
My children will never simply run and slide across the lawn. It would simply be too boring.
or simply float in a raft
Not when it can be dragged by the 4 wheeler.
I see I still have much to learn how they do it in L.A. (lower Alabama)
Of course , you will not catch me in there. I might get in a lake.....but the pond???
Nope, One word.....Water Moccasins. They kill them all the time, and apparently hang out in all 5 ponds and the surrounding trees. Why is this our entertainment spot???
Oh, how I cringed when the kids took off running. My only thought was ...."everyone has been playing out here so they are scared off right now" Right, Right????? I have to make up comforting thoughts such as these living here.
