Deck of me cards!

I am catching up! Can you believe it? And its only week 9 of the year. Okay, I am not totally caught up , but I only have two more to do. And I tell you I got to think on these for a bit. Quite a few of these I have been pondering for some time. I need to let go , and let it flow! Usually once I sit down to create it all just happens. So here they are!

Week 3- Spice of Life.......How do I need to spice up my life. Why the heck did this one stump me so hard. .....but this is what I came up with.

Week 4-3 words that describe me....Easy enough...Yeah right! But I sure love this card. Don't we all just love CTMH stamps?

Week 5- What to say to my 18 yr old self.........Oh...I could write a book! Funny thing is DS came in and was looking at my cards and said...Mom, this card says If you want to be happy be 18. I had to look. Yes , well that is not what I meant it to say. It is just supposed to be the quote by Henry David Thoreau. "If you want to be happy, BE"..........Because we all know that being 18 is not exactly the highlight of your life. Well at least not for me. And yes, this is a pic of me when I was 18.

There is a time and a place for the Pelvic Thrust

Like..........When you are going to a midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show and everyone is dressed up and ready to step into the "time warp again....." You with me? Seriously.....just saying the lyrics gets me going. BUT!!! Do you know when it is not appropriate? When the 60 something guy at the auto glass repair shop does it. I am just going to lay it out there. I don't think that this is a good time for the pelvic thrust. Picture this. I walk in the the Auto Glass Place on Friday. I have just left the gym, so I am wearing gym shorts, sweatshirt, hair in ponytail, no makeup.......you get the idea. I am just wanting to leave my keys to get my glass fixed , hop in the car with Jess , and go eat some breakfast.... Nope...NOt going to happen. Pelvic Thrust guy looks at me and asks if I have a ride, because it is going to take a couple hours. And I quote " Do you have a ride? Because if you don't , I will take you any where you want to go" [Insert Pelvic Thrust and "Whoo WHoo" Here] ...........Excuse me? WTF? I am speechless. Not really ,but I have no words for this guy. In the words of Ricky Bobby......"Did that just happen?, That just blew my mind!" Exactly. I walk out.....Speechless and get in the car with Jess. I think at this point I am many shades of red. Lets just go eat. So as I relay the "incedent" to my girlfriends over Cracker Barrell, I am told by them that these things only seem to happen to me. You know... I wish they didn't. What is with the older guys!Do they just get passed a certain age and the mouth filter goes out? I mean the old guy at the gym said he wanted to married to me for like 30 minutes! Who says this stuff! I swear I am wearing a shroud(sp?) next time I go out. But I am laughing at it. Because.........I like them older but not that old!!!!!!!!! sheesh!

My Personal Goal
As women we all spend time putting others first, worrying about them, taking care of their needs, scheduling their lives with little time left over for ourselves. For this week's challenge: What is your most important personal goal for the year? What are you doing that is just for you? How are you trying to improve yourself?

Okay, I am sure you know the answer to this. Running. That is what I am doing for myself. It is something that no one else can do for me. It is a singular sport. Does that make sense? I have to set my goals, I have to run the miles, I have to do the work. I have been running for over a year now seriously. I have a 1/2 marathon in 9 weeks and in January 2009 I am going to do the Rock and Roll Marathon in Phoenix. I don't care if I am living there or not I am going. I want this. I want it so much I can taste it! I know that if I am going to have it,It has to be all about running this year. No slacking off. No excuses. Just me hitting the pavement or treadmill. Whatever. Because you know what? Its true. I have put things that are important to me aside for to long. I am tired of putting my life on hold , because it is not a good time. So aside from running I am going to do things that make me happy. I am going to find stability in my life no matter what. I am so tired of being in Limbo!!!

Okay.....Sorry. That about got carried away! But hey if you can not say it out loud, why not type it for all the world to read... Seriously...Seriously.

Ready for a little Moonlight?

Me, Me......Is it April yet? But I will set aside my Moonlight tonight....because there is a total eclipse of the Moon. Show starts at 9 central people, so get on the hood of your car and go watch! Okay, now on to the other stuff. I had an excellent day. Which started with a good run. Legs felt better today so I was able to do it. I have been in an excellent mood ever since. Must be all the extra endorphins. I also met Jess for spin and came home to the phone ringing off the hook. But all in good fun. Because I have been laughing ever since. My mom called to tell me that some distant cousin was on American Idol. Me: " Okay mom, I will be sure to watch you 5th cousin , 8 times removed.....Talk to you later" About an hour later she called back. My grandfather had called back to say that it was not her cousin it was just a friend of the cousin. So he had to call every one in the family back to tell them NO , it was not the cousin, because you know we were all hovering over the phone , ready to vote....Right! Not like I was watching. Is it even good this year? Any new eye candy? I mean I gotta have some Daughtry or Beau. Nummy. LOLO? Can you help me with this? Still Mom had another funny to tell me. Which totally made me fall out of the chair laughing. My step grandmother's, mother is still alive. (Yes we are an American family--Grandpa robbed the cradle) The lady is nearly old and was watering plants today around the house. Well she gets to her favorite one and is watering it. Looks at her daughter(my step grandma) and says " This is the best growing plant I have ever owned, I simply love it" Well my grandparents don't have the heart to tell her that it is Fake. So they just nod , smile , and empty the water out each day. Now laugh, because that is funny. I don't care who you are. My second funny of the night came from my friend Kylene. She had me rolling with her diet woes. I will not go into details because chances are you will not find them as funny as me...cause I tend to laugh alot! But I will leave you with this. And I swear if anyone can tell me where to get the tshirt, I would love them forever. I would pay about 1,562$ for one. I don't know where I came up with that sum, but hey seems good. But recently her husband bought her this tshirt. Of course at Mardi Gras! But hey I think this shirt could just be a great everyday tshirt. Like say to wear to the gym.

So I managed to get something done today!

Well it was a lazy, rainy Sunday! So of course rock climbing was out, which was fine since I really needed to recoup and I totally did not go to the bridal shower. I was just not up to it. It was good just to spend the day at home relaxing. I cleaned the kids room(and I mean cleaned!). I also worked on my jewelry swaps. All sets but 1, that are due in March are done. I only have 8 more of the 1 set left. I ended up changing my prototype for the 2nd spring group. The green rock was not working for me. I also came up with prototypes for the other 3 groups. I have them all individually bagged and ready to be worked on. I figure I can knock them out this week. I will add pictures , because I am really happy with the turn out!

I am so excited because I registered for the Nashville Country Music 1/2 Marathon. I have exactly 10 weeks! I am all ready with my training schedule. A little nervous but I am glad I just went ahead and did it. I know that it will push me to work that much harder. Motivation!!!! Now darn it all if the gym is not closed tommorrow. Oh well , I will be doing a wet trail run. I got to get going in the morning too because I know I will never do it if I don't in the morning. As for tommorrow everything is closed and the kids are out of school. I thought I might go to Chattanooga but I don't think so. I got a bug tonight and bought paint for the hutch. I have been meaning to paint that thing since I moved in. So I hope to knock it out tommorrow.....after I run! Do you think the kids will leave me alone long enough to not get finger prints in it? Ha!

I love to read. Anyone who knows me, knows this. I read it all. From Harry Potter to Jane Austin to Anita Blake Vampire Series! Oh and don't let me forget Janet EVanovich or Diana Giabaldon(no way did I forget LOLO). And while I would not want to be without any of these wonderful books. There is one that I don't think I could do without. And this is going to sound crazy...............Its the follow up book to Pride and Prejudice. Mr. Darcy takes a wife by Linda Bertoll. I know what you are thinking.. She has lost it. But here is why. The story of Elizabeth and Darcy is etched in my mind without a doubt. I know every conversation, argument, and memory they have in the original. But what I always wanted to know , was what happened next. I read countless sequels to the great classic, but was never impressed. Not until this book. From cover to cover , word by word, I soaked it up. I loved every ounce of it. I have read it so many times, just to be reminded. Because like so many women out there I needed to know that Elizabeth got the happy ending. That Darcy was just as good as he seemed. Now what album would I choose. Well obviously it would be a Jimmy Buffett album. Ballads from the Box Collection. So many songs that mean so much. My favorite song is Survive. A anthem if you will, for my life. A song that has been ever present in my marriage as well. Chris and I used to fall asleep every night listening to this album. We would lie in bed and talk or sing every song until we fell asleep. For years, the same thing. We used laugh when we would catch our kids mesmerized by the "blades of the fan on the ceiling" or about calling Kendal "Little miss Magic". I still laugh when Chris says to me....."If the phone does not ring....its me." Yeah, that is definetly the only album I would need for all time. In fact, now is as good a time as any to listen.......

Found this quote and thought I would add it to my list. Very true, it is very true. Time is flying! And the faster is goes the more I wonder about the journey and what is the destination. Dont worry , I am not going all deep tonight. But I am sipping some wine while I update you on my life.

Last Saturday night I went hogwild at a place in Huntsville called yep.....HogWild. Excellent time with the friends old and new. Several drinks into the night found me and Stacey on stage dancing. But hey its all good fun. Brian and his wife came out which made me so very happy. Because I miss him! Also Summer , Stacey's sister and an old friend April joined us. It is so fun to hang out and catch up with people no matter how much time(there is that word again) has passed between visits. Happy Birthday my dearest Stacey. I love you!!!! The rest of this week went by pretty fast. Oh yeah, there was Valentines Day. I had a wonderful brunch with Beth and Jess at Cracker Barrell! Could not have asked for better dates! Friday was Homecoming. And Ryley was just so darn cute! He smiled and let me take all the pics I wanted. Of course he was a little distant. Someone mentioned his dad to him and he walked off. I know he wants Chris there for all these things and I have just run out of things to say to comfort him. I have to believe things will be better in just a little over a month. As for the weekend nothing much going on. Just going to clean house, get to feeling better and catch up on all my jewelry making. It has to be mailed off soon!!!!

Oh Yeah and other things you all were dying to know!

My puppy was born. Just yesterday morning. I have not seen pics yet and I am so anxious because I may have the perfect name!

And.....Last but So not least! MICKEY is coming back in April...... 4 more episodes of Moonlight. I just know my girls Kylene, Laura , and TAve are all hollering with me!!

How do things change in such a short time? How do feelings change? How do you come to realize things you didn't just 30 some days before. Is it lightbulb moments? Do things just start to click? Did you know them all the time and it was just denial? Or is it just time? Time can do so much. It can heal, it can take away, it can hurt, it can give.

Also good news! Ryley went back to school today, and he was picked to be the escort for the class Homecoming Representative. Its the same girl that he was class favorite with last year. So I am so excited to dress him all up and get pictures!!!!! Of course I will post when this happens. It is next weekend!

Other news....I am waiting to hear if my puppy is born....This week. I can't wait to see! This weekend should be busy. I hope to take in a movie with Beth and Jess(who should be back from the honeymoon) and it is Stacey's birthday weekend.....so Party out Saturday Night. Kind of excited to go out and party with the girls!

Well it is Wednesday morning and I am sitting here watching it POUR!! Schools are delayed 2 hours which I am kinda bummed about because I wanted to get to the gym! Ryley is home sick again. I got the call to come get him from school Monday. And yesterday I spent a wonderful morning at the hospital getting xrays, steriod shots, and breathing treatments. YEAH! NOT! Took forever! I was able to get the name of a surgeon though! So I am about ready to get his tonsils out and maybe put an end to all this mess. Enough all ready! My friends made me feel good though as I sat there for hours. Jess called from her honeymoon in Jamaica. She held the phone up and said "Hear the waves crashing?" UH! Wish I could trade places! I know she is having a wonderful time. I miss her! I have not seen Beth hardly at all either because of both are kids being sick. But she called me at the hospital to ask if I wanted food. Can I just say that I have great friends. AND!!! I really do not want to leave them!!!!! Speaking of good friends, Stacey joined Scrapshare and thus signed up for a jewelry swap! Woohoo! That made my morning! Good going girl! I can not wait to see what you come up with my creative friend! I need to get mine finished up and postal! I am making 3 of the princess bracelets. 1 for Kendal and her two friends Emma and Zana. I am behind on everything else. No scrapbook pages, no deck of me. Maybe I will get caught up this weekend. We shall see! I am not to worried. With sick kids and a MIL in town what can you do! MIL is leaving today.......which is always good! Snort! We just get under each others skin. But she has helped me out this week so I am thankful for that.

The wedding

Jess' wedding was yesterday. It was simply beautiful. A very long ceremony (over an hour). But the priest kept it light and fun. The bridesmaids looked so beautiful, especially Beth. I could not get over it. And of course Jess. Stunning dress and she looked like she was having fun. I did not even see tears! I got to the reception around 3.....First one there(how lame) They wedding party showed up around 4 and we had a pretty good time. I did not Chicken dance or anything but hey, sometimes you just got to say no. Ha, Ha! It was very nice evening.......all though I was there alone. We waved them goodbye around 7 and Beth and I headed out to the car. I was kind of sad my friend was leaving.......but she is having a blast in Jamaica!

Catching up!

Okay, it dawned on me that I have not been so good with all the challenges. Well you know how it goes. You make all these resolutions in the beginning of January only to let them all slide by the end of the month. The most important things to you always remain clear but the excess usually gets trimmed off. So here is the updates on mine(because I am no different!)

LOAD Challenge. I made it something like 18 days........and then I missed a day. And then another day. Then a week. And then never started back. I wish I could have finished the challenge BUT, I gotta be in the mood to scrap and well I just lost all motivation! Still I love the pages I did, and I got alot done. Thinking back I should have split up those two page spreads and used one per day. So technically I got more done!

The night before the wedding!

I have officially had 4 hours sleep. The bride had less. Not sure about the groom. Probably the same. Its all good! I spent last night going out to eat with my mother in law and kids. I did some running around to get some wine and made it over to the church about 9. We loaded up gifts and me , Beth and Jess headed over to the house. The other bridesmaids showed up a little later along with Ben(the groom) and his groomsmen. What happened to Jess's rule about not seeing the groom the night before. That kind of flew out the window! LOL! She said as long as they did not fall asleep and then wake up before the wedding and see each other. Hmmm....okay! We all proceeded to sit around the kitchen table drinking as much as possible. Probably not the brightest move, but hey, I am not the one in pictures today. Can you believe we broke out with the Boones Farm? I mean who does this? I have not drank Boones Farm since like High School. Now I remember why!!!!! At one point we just passed bottles around the table. Sad.....I know. But hey good times to be had, oh, and we had them! Have I mentioned I am going to miss these people when I move?
